It's a glamorization of drug trade and crime with all it's pros and cons. They worked more on looks and plot than on story-line. If i summarize it, it is more of a modern spin on the action classic with a poor story-line.

Superfly is all about money, fashion, girls, cars and guns.
A fancy trailer that portrays a stylish celebration of excess and wealth
wrapped in dangers and societal issues. Superfly is directed by Director X and
this movie is a remake of the 1972 blaxploitation film 'Super Fly'.
Although a lot of changes have been made but, still the guts of the film are very much the same. Trevor Jackson as Priest is a man rising from bottom to build up his own unimpeachable crew. His agility and ardor for wealth makes him a lot more money and buys him all luxuries of life, that surely marked the acme of his career. Climax is well directed when new crew comes across and the Priest's crew goes into peril. The trailer doesn't provide much about the plot except for the fact that the setting has shifted from Harlem to Atlanta.
